These new figures bring the balance sheet to 23 521 died in the third country most bereaved by the disease after the United States and Italy.

The increase in the daily check-up is frequent at the beginning of the week because of the delay in the notification of cases according to the health authorities, who believe that they exceeded the peak of the pandemic on April 2 when 950 victims were registered in 24 hours.

“Developments have continued in the same downward trend in recent days,” said director of the Ministry of Health’s Health Emergency Center Fernando Simon on Monday.

The number of patients cured exceeded Monday the mark of 100 00 0, and the pressure on hospitals is decreasing to the point that a large field hospital set up urgently in the pavilions of the trade fair in Madrid, the most affected region, plans to close its doors at the end of the week.

This is why Spain, which has more than 200 00 0 cases, started Sunday to loosen one of the strictest confinements in the world established in mid-March, by allowing children to go out accompanied by an adult.

But adults will also be allowed to walk or play sports individually from next Saturday if contagion continues to slow.

After having multiplied the tests to detect COVID – 19, Spain launched a vast study on Monday serological with 60 00 0 to 90 00 0 people to estimate the number of Spaniards who have developed antibodies against the virus.
