The company named Oriental land Co. that manage the whole things of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea has been reported that they are going for an expansion project, two parks, and the parks worth will be more than $2.7 billion (around ¥300 billion.)
According to a leading news site of Japan named Japan Times reported, the Oriental Land company plans to expand the two existing Disney theme parks by more than 30 percent by the year of 2025. For expansion, the needed space will be cover from the surrounding. They are planning to acquire additional land around, also planning to change a parking lot as a Tokyo Disney Resort complex in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, into a multi-story structure.
An executive from Oriental Land and the Walt Disney Co. have now entered into negotiations regarding the new areas for expansion of the existing parks. Disney is going to provide the rights to properties like Mickey Mouse and Star Wars as the companies hammer out details.
From the Japan Times, If we believe on the source the expansion project details will be final by the end of the March 2018. This expansion plan will be the most significant expansion ever made in the Tokay Disney history and will cost more than $2.7 billion.
The aim of the expanding the park is to grow the ticket sales, to older people and foreign visitors. As the competition was already boosted from each of parks, Universal Studios Japan, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Hong Kong Disneyland.
Another thing is Tokay Disney don’t have any visitor growth from 2013, also suffered from a little drop in visitors number from 2016. Due to no sales grow and hit in revenue, they are expanding the surrounding with some new and fantastic features is another moto.
